Art is a universal language that inspires positive change, eliminates barriers and eases communication. Art motivates and unites individuals and organizations towards a common dream - a better world and society.
It is with this principle in mind that FAO (the Food and Agricultural Organization, a Rome-based UN Agency) retained pptArt to select an African Artist to create between 6 and 12 Works of Art for the forthcoming FAO Awards 2017. The FAO Awards honour outstanding contributions to global food security by recognizing individuals, institutions and organizations who have made outstanding achievements in fighting hunger. More information is available at the following link to the FAO Awards 2017 website. An image from the previous edition of the FAO Awards and the winning works of art from Malaysian artist Anniketiny Madian are shown on the right end side of this page.
If you are an African Artist and are interested in taking part to this international challenge, please send to Marta Bassotti your CV and some high-resolution images of your work by Friday, March 17th so that we can submit them to the FAO evaluation committee by the end of March.
The final artist will be selected by mid-April and will receive a contract. The artist is expected to work on the project between mid-April and end of May.
Do not hesitate to contact Marta Bassotti at mb@pptArt.org should you need additional information.
We look forward to having you on board for this prestigious project.
